On board RNLI lifeboat as it launches

It is the busiest time of year for coastal rescue services as thousands of holidaymakers hit the beaches and head out to sea.

The RNLI charity has volunteer lifeboat crews at 235 lifeboat stations across the UK and trained lifeguards at 163 lifeguarded beaches.

The BBC's Louise Hubball joined one crew as it launched a lifeboat at Sennen Cove in Cornwall.
