Tariq Jahan nominated to be an Olympic torch bearer

Tariq Jahan came to world attention during the Birmingham riots, when he appealed for calm after the murder of his son Haroon, and two others.

He urged members of the Asian community not to take revenge, and asked for calm between the city's various ethnic groups.

A campaign has been launched for him to be nominated as a torch bearer for the Olympic Games.

BBC Asian Network's Rahila Bano reports.
