Cheap coach fare cuts criticised

Half price coach travel for the over-60s and younger disabled people will end as planned at the end of October, the government has said.

Coach operators say they could have offered the government the savings they wanted without penalising people who depend on the long-distance services.

Campaigners say the cuts will harm thousands who use the cheaper fares to visit friends and family, while doing little to help the government save money.

Paul Lewis reports.
