Fireman Chris Margetts: Mine exit is 'blocked by water'

Rescuers say they are "hopeful and optimistic" that four miners trapped 90m (295ft) underground will be freed.

The men have been trapped by water at Gleision Colliery near Cilybebyll, Pontardawe, in the Swansea Valley since Thursday morning.

The miners' exit is blocked by water but their "air supply is good", said Chris Margetts of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
