Father's tribute to 'fabulous daughter' Marie Stewart

The father of Marie Stewart, who was strangled, beaten and stabbed by her fiance Andrew Lindo, has paid tribute to a ''fabulous daughter and loving mum''.

Speaking outside Bradford Crown Court after his daughter's murderer was given a minimum 22-year jail term, Robert Stewart said finding out her body had been stored in a garage was a "gut-wrenching experience".

Mr Stewart said Lindo had "painted Marie as a lazy, feckless mother who had abandoned her children for a better life" and had tried to "blacken her name in the very worst possible terms" but had failed to do so.
