Twelve held at Parliament squatter protest
At least 12 people were arrested after police and protesters clashed outside the Houses of Parliament.
The plan had been to stage what was described by protesters as a peaceful Halloween picnic in Parliament Square.
The aim was to show their opposition to a bill which will make squatting a criminal offence.
Phoenix, from the Squatters Action Group, said the government was refusing to listen to the views of the people of Britain.
