George Osborne: Renewables are the future of energy

Chancellor George Osborne has announced an extra £103m of funding for renewable energy in Scotland.

The move comes after the UK and Scottish governments reached an agreement on accessing funds from the Fossil Fuel Levy, a tax paid by suppliers of non-renewable energy sources.

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Osborne said he hoped that the money would create many hundreds of jobs, with people in Scotland working on "the future of energy".
