Edwina Currie faces critics amid poverty row

Former Conservative minister Edwina Currie has faced her critics after saying she did not believe there was anyone in the UK who could not afford to eat.

BBC Radio 5live brought Edwina along to a church in central Birmingham where people regularly come for food parcels.

She put her argument to an audience in Ladywood, Birmingham - including local politicians, businessmen, church leaders and charity workers.

The Reverend Ian Harper is the vicar at St John's and St Peter's Church in Ladywood - one of the most deprived areas in the country.
