Police put spotlight on young driver dangers

It has long been known that younger drivers are more frequently involved in crashes, but fresh figures have prompted a renewed police campaign to encourage youths to use the roads more responsibly.

The statistics, from the Department of Transport, show that more than 60,000 accidents in 2011 involved motorists under the age of 30.
