Council disagrees with former CEO's claims

The chief executive of Cheltenham Borough Council has apologised to tax payers for the council trying to sue its former head because she failed to reveal her history of depression.

A High Court judge dismissed the case against Christine Laird, which cost taxpayers £2.1m.

Mrs Laird has become the first person to be awarded maximum disability benefits for life.

Andrew North, Mrs Laird's successor at the council, responded to her interview on Radio 5 live.
