Ambulance patients face A&E delays

Patients taken to hospital by ambulance in England often have to wait longer than the official 15-minute maximum before they are admitted, according to figures seen by the BBC.

Those needing life-saving care are passed on to doctors immediately, but in some areas around 40% of urgent cases brought in by ambulance have to wait more than 15 minutes before they are handed over to doctors.
