Vigil in Salford for Anuj Bidve

A candlelit vigil has been held in Salford for student Anuj Bidve, exactly a week after he was shot dead in the area in the early hours of 26 December.

Kiaran Stapleton, 20, of Salford, has been charged with Mr Bidve's murder and remanded in custody by magistrates on Monday.

The BBC's Nick Ravenscroft said people told him they had come to the vigil to pay their respects but also to separate themselves from the "taint on the community" they feel has been left by the shooting.
