Police appeal after stabbed schoolgirl dies in Yorkshire

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a 13-year-old girl, named as Casey-Lyanne Kearney, died in a stabbing in South Yorkshire.

Emergency services were called to Elmfield Park in Doncaster by the girl just after 13:15 GMT on Tuesday. She died later in hospital.

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Det Supt Terry Mann said that if anyone in the area had seen anything suspicious, or simply seen Casey herself, they should call 01709 443510 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
