Alcohol 'not cause' of school coach crash

French authorities have said that the driver of a coach carrying British school children was not under the influence of drink or drugs.

Derek Thompson, 47, was driving the vehicle when it went down an embankment on the A26 motorway, Col Laurent Vidal said.

Peter Rippington, 59, who taught at Alvechurch School in Worcestershire, died and more than 20 people were hurt in the accident.
