Diamond Jubilee: Crowds mark start of Queen's tour

Cheering crowds waving union jacks have greeted the Queen in Leicester, as she began her Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.

The monarch watched cultural dancers before entering De Montfort University to attend a fashion parade with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Meanwhile, The Duke of Edinburgh visited a university project aimed at improving life in the local community.

The Queen and duke are travelling around the UK from March to July.
