Housing scheme boost for buyers

A new scheme is being launched to help people in England buy new homes, and to kick start the housing market.

Under it, three of the main high street banks will loan up to 95% of the value of the home to buyers.

The builders and the government will then put money aside to pay back the banks if there is a major housing crash.

Simon Gompertz reports.
