David Cameron's tribute to Archbishop of Canterbury

Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams has announced he is to stand down in December.

He will take up the position of Master of Magdalene College at the University of Cambridge from January 2013, his website has said.

Prime Minister David Cameron said Dr Williams had given great service to the country, paying tribute to him as ''a very, very thoughtful and wise man''.
