Colleagues battled to save blast soldier, inquest told

A coroner has praised the colleagues of a soldier, who risked their lives to save her when she suffered "catastrophic injuries" in Afghanistan.

Bomb disposal expert Captain Lisa Head, later died in hospital despite the efforts of other soldiers at the scene who'd battled to keep her alive.

The coroner delivered a verdict of unlawful killing.
