Hopes for future of mining industry in Devon and Cornwall

Contracts giving a mining company ownership of land in Cornwall which it says it needs for new buildings have been signed.

Western United Mines wants to extract tin and other metals at South Crofty, near Camborne, and hopes to create at least 220 jobs.

In neighbouring Devon an Australian company, Wolf Minerals, is planning to restart tungsten mining at Hemerdon, aiming to create 230 permanent roles.

Louise Hubball reports.
