Theresa May to address Police Federation conference

Home Secretary Theresa May is addressing the Police Federation conference in Bournemouth amid claims she is on the brink of destroying the service.

The Police Federation - whose Chairman Paul McKeever will also address the conference - said budget cuts and radical reforms are already hurting forces in England and Wales.

Thousands of off-duty police officers took to the streets of central London last week to protest against the changes.

Mrs May has said the government stands firm on the reforms and believes the cuts are essential.
