Stormy weather wipes out events across the UK

Stormy weather is causing disruption to sporting and cultural events across the UK, including the Olympic torch relay.

An outside festival to mark the torch's arrival in Blackpool has been moved inside as organisers say participants are facing the wettest weather so far.

Meanwhile, thousands of people trying to reach the Isle of Wight pop festival remain stuck in traffic jams after waterlogged fields led to delays.

Forecasters say heavy rain is now falling in northern and western areas.

Dominic Hughes reports.
