TUC's O'Grady: Government must change course on economy
The TUC has voted to carry out co-ordinated strike action if talks over public sector pay break down.
Delegates at the annual congress in Brighton unanimously backed the proposal by the public sector union Unison.
Frances O'Grady, the TUC's newly-appointed general secretary, said that the spending cuts are "sucking money out of people's pockets".
She told The World at One that unless the economy gets stimulated again "we're going to see more unemployment, more hardship and more good businesses go bust."
"A lot of people are saying enough is enough, the goverment must change course," she said.
