Scottish referendum deal 'fair' says Michael Moore

The Scottish Secretary, Michael Moore, who led negotiations with the Scottish government over a referendum on independence, has dismissed suggestions that the UK government was outplayed by the First Minister, Alex Salmond.

An agreement, to be signed in Edinburgh tomorrow, is expected to say that the vote will take place in 2014, and allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote.

Mr Moore told the Andrew Marr Show that critics had not yet seen the details of the deal, and insisted he had achieved his aims.
