Wales child abuse: 'We all want to see prosecutions'

Correction 10 November 2012: The BBC has apologised unreservedly for broadcasting a report on Newsnight on 2 November over allegations of child abuse which transpired to have involved a case of mistaken identity. As a result the video of the original report has been removed from the website. More details can be found here

A victim of child abuse in north Wales in the 1970s and 80s says he "needs to see prosecutions" in the case.

The Prime Minister has announced an investigation into an earlier inquiry, to determine whether it did its job properly.

Steve Messham says has received reassurances from the Prime Minister's Press Secretary, but he wants "first hand reassurance" from David Cameron himself.

He also said that "completely independent" outside force was needed to investigate the actions of North Wales Police in the matter.

Messham spoke to Victoria Derbyshire.
