Banking report 'should be fleshed out'

Speaking on The World at One, Sir John Vickers told presenter Shaun Ley that the "Parliamentary report will reinforce [the government's report] so it can work as robustly as possible."

The government commissioned a report into banking, chaired by Sir John Vickers. It reported last year, and forms the basis of the changes to the banking system that the government plans to implement.

Today a parliamentary commission has called for plans that seem to be even tougher on banks.
