Are Britons good at complaining?
The film director Michael Winner who died earlier this week following a long illness was among other things a renowned restaurant critic who was never afraid to complain.
Just how good are Britons at complaining? Are we too reticent to ask for better service?
Celebrity agent Jonathan Shalit said "if you go into any service industry and don't get a service you want you should say so".
Mary Killen is agony aunt of the Spectator and she claims we are too "time starved" to complain for bad service and those who eat in restaurants don't have time to "hang about".
