Women fight back at 'everyday' sexism

5 live asked the founder of the Everyday Sexism Project why she was cataloguing incidences of sexism in everyday life.

A journalist who set up a project to catalogue incidents of everyday sexism is calling for the sexism to be recognised and believed.

Laura Bates started the Everyday Sexism Project after becoming frustrated with the way women are portrayed in the media. Since launching it ten months ago, 20,000 people have submitted their own examples through social media.

Ms Bates spoke to BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire.
