HS2 ruling a 'green light' for project, says minister

A government consultation into the compensation of those affected by the planned HS2 high-speed rail scheme has been ruled unlawful by the High Court, lawyers have said.

But the government has won nine out of 10 key points, with Rail Minister Simon Burns hailing the judgement a "green light" for the project.

He added that ministers will not appeal over the one ruling.

The first part of HS2 would see a high-speed line from London to Birmingham.
