Unicef: Lives of UK children improving, says UNICEF

Britain's children were described as the unhappiest in the developed world by the United Nations six years ago but now the organisation has now released a new study suggesting children's lives in the UK are improving.

Britain came bottom of a Unicef league table in 2007 comparing child well-being in wealthy countries but the BBC has exclusive access to the latest report which reveals improvements to children's lives - although there are warnings of persistent problems.

Mark Easton reports.
