'Peaceful Thatcher funeral protests ok' - Metropolitan Police

People who wish to demonstrate in London on the day of Margaret Thatcher's funeral are entitled to do so - provided their protest is peaceful, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

Commander Christine Jones said that police would be treating Wednesday's service as a security as well as a ceremonial event, with many high-profile figures expected to attend.

She urged anyone planning to hold a demonstration to speak to police in advance.
