Queen visits Duke in hospital after Trooping the Colour

The Queen has paid a visit to the Duke of Edinburgh in hospital today.

Prince Philip is recovering from exploratory abdominal surgery which he underwent at the London Clinic last week.

The Queen was unaccompanied as she made the visit "quietly and privately", a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said.

Earlier, the Queen attended the annual Trooping the Colour parade to mark her official birthday.
