Police 'at limit' with current resources

The vice-chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, Steve White, says that he believes police forces are at the limits of what they can do with their current resources.

It comes as official figures show another reduction in recorded crime in England and Wales.

According to the Office for National Statistics, recorded crime has fallen by seven per cent in the year ending March 2013 despite the fact that police numbers are at their lowest level for more than a decade.

Mr White says that forces are doing all they can with the money they have.
