BT Sport channel challenges the reign of Sky Sports
Telecoms giant BT has launched its own UK sports channels in a challenge to Sky, who have dominated the market for 20 years.
Sky has already seen off ITV Digital, Setanta and ESPN, which all temporarily entered the pay-TV football market.
BT has the rights to show 38 live Premier League games per season for the next three seasons at a cost of £738m, while Sky has paid £2.3bn for 116 matches a season.
