'Hannah's death has destroyed our lives' says father

The father of Hannah Smith has urged social media sites to do more to protect teenage users.

David Smith says his daughter's death has destroyed their family - with Hannah's sister Joanne being so traumatised that they are having to move house.

The 14 year old, whose funeral took place on Friday, is believed to have killed herself after being bullied on website Ask.fm.

Hannah's father told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "These websites need to do more and it's not just Ask.fm... somebody needs to step up and take control to stop the slaughter of teenagers."

Ask.fm has said it will tighten controls and improve reporting to safeguard people using its question and answer online service.
