Sheppey crash: 'Breaking glass and deafening thuds'

Eyewitnesses have been describing how they escaped from a 130 vehicle pile-up on the Sheppey crossing.

Martin Stammers was driving on the A249 with his son, when he was confronted with a mound of smashed vehicles ahead.

He told the BBC "All you could hear was the screeches of tyres and deafening thuds."
