Lake District hoping for World Heritage site status

The Lake District is hoping to win World Heritage site status.

Cumbria county and district councils and the national park authority have voted to submit a bid to the international organisation, UNESCO. Their previous applications have failed to gain approval.

But why does the status matter so much?

The BBC's Dave Guest travels to the historic mining town called Blaenavon, situated in the valleys of south Wales, which won the accolade 13 years ago.
