Ministers 'reject' press plan for regulation

Senior ministers have rejected proposals drawn up by the newspaper industry for the regulation of the press. But sub-committee chair Danny Alexander insisted no decision had been made.

Politicians and the press are at odds over what controls are needed in the wake of the Leveson inquiry into phone hacking at the now-closed News of the World.
