'Never known morale so low'

Teachers in London, Cumbria, the South East, North East and South West are taking part in a strike leaving 3,492 schools shut - the NASUWT says it has never seen morale so low.

Thousands of teachers have gone on strike in England in a protest over pay, pensions and jobs.

The action is part of a continuing campaign of regional strikes involving members of the NUT and NASUWT.

Deputy General Secretary of the NASUWT (National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers) Dr Patrick Roach said he had "never known morale so low".
