Victims 'should be given court voice,' says mother of stab victim
Victims of crime in England and Wales are to be given a greater opportunity to speak in courts.
A new Victims' Code will entitle victims to address offenders personally to explain the impact of their crime.
Gill Veysey, whose son Darren was fatally stabbed four years ago, told the BBC her statement to her son's killer was never read in court.
"It would have made more of an impact on him, had he heard it from me, than anything else he was likely to hear," she said.
