Man questioned over Gosport road deaths

Police have been granted more time to question a 20-year-old man in Gosport, arrested on suspicion of murdering two teenage girls who died when they were hit by a car on Sunday morning.

Jasmine Allsop, 14, and her 16-year-old friend Olivia Lewry were walking home from a party when the green Honda Civic hit them.

Jasmine died at the scene while Olivia was pronounced dead at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. Duncan Kennedy reports.
