Hillcroft abuse patients 'failed' by Lancashire services

The owners and managers of a nursing home where three carers were found guilty of abusing patients "failed" in their duties, a victim's relative has said.

Katie Cairns, 27, Carol Moore, 54 and Gemma Pearson, 28 were found guilty of the abuse at Hillcroft nursing home in Slyne-with-Hest, near Lancaster.

Another carer, Darren Smith, had earlier pleaded guilty to ill-treating eight residents

Michael Rowlinson, who represented the victims' families, also accused Lancashire County Council adult services, NHS North Lancashire and the CQC of failings.
