Leeds shooting: Police 'in control of the situation very quickly'

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested following a shooting on Wednesday morning in which a female police officer was injured.

The condition of the injured officer is described as "poorly", but she is in a stable condition in hospital.

Speaking at a news briefing, Chief Supt Paul Money thanked the public for their assistance.

"This is quite obviously an incident that is thankfully rare in Leeds, but nonetheless very shocking," he said.
