Times columnist Jenni Russell and PR adviser Tim Collins, a former speech writer to Margaret Thatcher, reviewed the papers for the BBC News Channel.

The pair also discussed a story in the Guardian about the UK switching to plastic banknotes from 2016, and the implications of the Financial Times's lead story about Russia signing a deal to supply cheaper gas to Ukraine.
