Labour would give councils power to ban fixed-odds betting machines

Ed Miliband says that he will give local councils the power to ban fixed-odds betting machines from the high street if his party wins the next election.

The Labour leader says the machines target disadvantaged communities and often act as a magnet for crime and anti-social behaviour.

Labour says some machines can allow punters to bet up to £300 a minute.
