Storm damage disrupts rail travel across the UK

Scotland and Northern Ireland are bearing the brunt of the latest storms to hit the UK, amid continuing travel disruption in many parts of the UK.

As many try to travel home for Christmas, rail routes are being hit by cancellations and delays.

Robin Gisby from Network Rail said that it was a mixed picture on services around the country.

Routes into Waterloo had been affected by up to 90 fallen trees and floods, he said.
