Floods and power cuts hit thousands

More than 50,000 homes in southern and eastern England are still without power following the huge storms which hit the UK on Monday and Tuesday.

Those still cut off are unlikely to have it restored for several more hours, the Energy Networks Association says, and more bad weather is predicted later this week.
