The papers: Friday's front pages

Solicitor Michael Caplan and Neil Midgley, from the Daily Telegraph, reviewed Friday's papers for the BBC News Channel.

They began with reports that Boxing Day had been a boon for retailers, with suggestions a record sum had been spent at the sales.

The pair then discussed stories including the Guardian's front page lead, which cites a survey highlighting the public's anger at politicians, and coverage in the Daily Mail of Conservative MPs criticising the UN for commenting on the UK's attempts to limit access to welfare for new immigrants.
