Radio 4 pays homage to Simon Hoggart political sketches

Radio 4's PM programme has paid tribute to the late Simon Hoggart, who died on Sunday of pancreatic cancer aged 67.

Mr Hoggart was a journalist for The Guardian and was well-known for his parliamentary sketches.

Radio 4's PM programme voiced up some key sketches which Mr Hoggart had written over the past decade, aimed at various politicians including John Prescott, Nicholas Soames, Chris Bryant and Peter Tapsell.

Three of the sketches were voiced by the actor Kenneth Cranham, and the sketch about Chris Bryant was gamely voiced by Mr Bryant himself.
