UK defence cuts 'leave a great hole'
The former British ambassador to the US, Sir Christopher Meyer, says the US is right to question the scale of the UK's defence cuts.
Former Defence Secretary Robert Gates said the planned cuts left the UK without "full spectrum capability".
He said that while the US was making its own huge defence cuts, it has not left "a great hole in its defence capabilities in the way that has happened here in the United Kingdom."
