Sister claims missing Nida was 'jealous' of friend
The family of missing teenager Nida Naseer said she was "depressed" and "jealous" on the day she vanished because her friend had been granted asylum in Britain, and she had not.
The family's asylum claim was rejected last year, meaning the 19-year-old was unable to go to university.
Nida disappeared from her Newport home on 28 December without her shoes, coat, money or phone.
Her sister, Shamyla, told BBC Radio 5 live's Jordan Davies: "She was jealous because she thought - I can't have this kind of opportunity that that girl has. Therefore she left."
